Scheduling your Intensive Counselling Retreat
Because each Intensive is tailored to the individual counselling needs and financial abilities of our clients, we ask you to call us to discuss payment plans and availability. We will talk about your expectations, address your immediate concerns, and outline the benefits of working intensively with one or two therapists over three days. If you are interested in proceeding with an Intensive, we will look at open dates on our calendar that match your availability.
The Intensive is booked according to your convenience and our availability. If you are able to come midweek, you may have more choices, as the weekends tend to fill up more quickly.
Co-Therapy
For the most part, we work as co-therapists. We do not work with you separately as individuals, so there are always four of us in the room. Most Intensives take place in our main office in Ottawa, Ontario. The fee for our “couple-to-couple” online Intensive or an in-person Couple Retreat at our Ottawa location is $6,000 CAD. This includes 10.5 hours counselling with both of us over 3 days, followed by a 1.5 hour on-site or videoconference session within the next 3-4 weeks (12 hours in all).
If you choose to work with either one of us alone, our in-person Retreat or Virtual Intensive Fee is $3,000 CAD. This includes 10.5 hours counselling with one therapist over 3 days, followed by a 1.5 hour on-site or videoconference session within the next 3-4 weeks (12 hours in all).
Fees are adjusted upwards to account for the rental of a hotel suite suitable for our out-of-town sessions in Toronto, Kingston and Montreal. We will always give you a quote to include the cost of these sessions based on the current market value of hotels/inns/BnB’s. We will also do our best to find the most reasonable seasonal rates.
The Fee for a 3-day Intensive Counselling Retreat in Mexico is $6,000 CAD, which includes 12 hours counselling (with two therapists). if you wish to see only one of us for the Retreat, the fee is $3,000 CAD.
Followup beyond the 12 hours scheduled is highly recommend, and is paid on a fee-for service basis. It can be arranged online via videoconference, or in-person in Ottawa, Ontario, when we return to Canada. You are responsible for arranging your own accommodations (see more information below.)
For the full information on the current Mexican Retreats, please see the Retreats page of this website.
Accommodations are not included in our Ottawa Intensive Retreat fee. If you are travelling from out-of-town to our Ottawa office, you will be responsible for arranging your own accommodations (minimum two nights). Once you have confirmed the dates of your Intensive, we will confirm the Intensive. You can expect to spend a minimum of $175.00 CAD (+ HST) per day for accommodations.
Fees for Couple Intensives taking place in Toronto, Kingston and Montreal are adjusted to account for the rental of a room or hotel suite with a separate living room where we can meet for our sessions. When your accommodations are part of a hotel booking, we will give you a quote that will include the cost of our counselling fees and your accommodations, which will be based on seasonal rates and the current market value of the hotel or inn.
In Mexico you will be responsible for your own accommodations, as we have an office there where we will meet for your sessions. Though there are many B&B’s, a few boutique hotels, and some short-term apartment and house rentals in Ajijic, they can fill up quickly between January and the end of March. So we recommend several locations that our near our Ajijic office:
Hacienda del Lago Boutique Hotel is a boutique hotel that faces Lake Chapala and is a 7-10-minute walk from our office
Casa del Sol Bed & Breakfast is a Mexican-style BnB/Inn located about 12 minutes’ walk from us.other is a Mexican-style BnB/Inn
Hotel Lindo Ajijic Bed & Breakfast is a 2 minute walk from our office (although we have not visited it yet so can’t recommend it personally).
Casa de l;a Abuela is about a 13 min walk (though it is uphill going home).
There are new hotels and Inns every year in Aijic, and we will post some of them on out site when it gets closer to December 2024.
