Our winter Couple Intensive Retreats in Mexico are over 3 days (3-4 hours a day, up to 12 hours total) or over 5 days (3-4 hours a day, up to 20 hours total).

If you choose to work with both David and Louise, our co-therapist team, the fee for a 3-day Intensive Retreat is $4,500.00 CAD (no tax), plus accommodations. The fee for a 5-day Intensive Retreat is $7,500.00 CAD (no tax), plus accommodations.

If you choose to work with one therapist only, the fee for a 3-day Intensive Retreat fee is $2,400.00 CAD (no tax) plus accommodations, and $4,000 CAD (no tax) plus accommodations.

Followup (which we highly recommend) is on a fee-for-service basis (see Couple Therapy). Future counselling sessions take place via videoconference, or in-person in Ottawa, Ontario, whichever is most convenient for you.

Ajijic Accommodations

Ajijic is a very safe, colourful and lively little Mexican town, popular with Canadian and American expats. It is just a 30-minute drive south west of Guadalajara.

When in Mexico, you will be responsible for your own accommodations. Though there are many B&B’s, a few boutique hotels, and some short-term apartment and house rentals in Ajijic, they can fill up quickly between January and the end of March. So we recommend two hotel/inns that our near our Ajijic Retreat location.

One is Casa del Sol Inn, a newly renovated Mexican-style Inn. Under new ownership, it has recently been completely renovated.  Casa del Sol Inn is alive with the vibrant colors of Mexico and has all the comforts of home. A gourmet breakfast is served to guests in a brightly sun-lit Hacienda Room surrounded by colourful indoor flower gardens, beautiful paintings and unusual sculptures. You can relax in the lush garden courtyard by the swimming pool, and enjoy the spectacular views of the mountains and Lake Chapala from your private balcony or on the rooftop patio. Room rates for each of the 9 one-bedroom rooms (2 beds or 1  king bed) range from 100.000-120.00 USD. Casita Sonrisa is a spacious apartment on the ground floor with a King-size bed and an en-suite bathroom, decorated with traditional Mexican tiles. Included in the casita is a dining space and a full kitchen, and more. All this for 140.00/USD/night. Room rates include a delicious full breakfast and all taxes.

The other recommended hotel is a modern boutique hotel/spa/restaurant, Hacienda del Lago Boutique Hotel. It faces Lake Chapala and is just a 10-minute walk from our Retreat location.
